Other Material
Two other types of gutters accompanied the Nachod gutters. In the original set were two single 10h gutters, one cancelled, one not. Just as with the 5h gutters, the un-cancelled 10h gutter turned out to be Position 1, the cancelled one Position 8.
As with the unidirectional 5h gutters, the 10h Position 1 had been cut from a block of four gutters (positions 2, 3, 4, and 5), while the the Position 8 gutter had been trimmed from the left side of the newly acquired Position 9 gutter. Clearly, both sets of gutters had undergone nearly similar treatments -- only in the latter case, position 10 of the 10h gutters was not included in the new purchase.
In addition to the 10h material, a block of two normal 5h gutters, also hand-stamped PORTO but cancelled NACHOD with a different device and date, came with the second find. Note in the lower right corner how PORTO appears to have been applied after the cancel. Also, look carefully at the center cancel and compare it to the other two. The gap in the outer ring in front of the N differs. Also, although it barely be seen in the scan, there is a fingerprint to the right of the control number 5.--.
